Dovecote Events is a family-run wedding and events venue nestled deep in the rural heart of Oxfordshire. The venue is known for its stunning views of the countryside, creating the perfect backdrop for any event. Central to the venue is the Grade II listed Dovecote Barn, which has been meticulously restored to showcase its historical charm, complete with exposed brickwork and oak beams. The barn is licensed for civil ceremonies, partnership ceremonies, and vow renewals, making it an ideal choice for couples seeking a romantic countryside wedding.
Looking to enhance their offerings and keep pace with trends in the wedding industry, the team at Dovecote Events sought to expand beyond the traditional barn setting. They wanted to introduce a unique, versatile, and aesthetically pleasing structure that could cater to larger and more diverse events.
With an increasing demand for outdoor and unconventional wedding venues, Dovecote Events recognized the need to innovate. They wanted a solution that would complement their existing barn while offering something different to attract a broader range of clients. The challenge was to find a structure that matched their rustic, countryside brand and could withstand the British weather.
At the Showman’s Show, Dovecote Events discovered The Tipi Company. The team was instantly drawn to the natural look and general aesthetic of the Tipis. Unlike traditional marquees, the Tipis provided a unique, eye-catching structure that resonated with their vision.
Dovecote Events began their journey with The Tipi Company by investing in a smaller Tipi formation. This initial investment allowed them to test the waters and gauge the interest from their clients. As demand grew, so did their Tipi formation. Over the years, they expanded their setup to include: Three Big Hat Tipis, a Midi Hat Tipi, a Baby Tipi and Three Little Hat Tipis. Two Little Hat Tipis were placed outside the main Tipi structure for additional shelter outside, the third has been added to their newly renovated Paddock, providing a picturesque setting for outdoor ceremonies.
The Tipi structures have also significantly increased the venue’s capacity, enabling Dovecote Events to cater to larger weddings and corporate events. This expansion has not only attracted more clients but also increased their sales revenue, solidifying Dovecote Events as one of Oxfordshire’s premier wedding and event venues.
